The first performance of the Parade concert. This is a reissue of a 3LP set by the same name missing part of the soundcheck. The sound quality is pretty good. There is also a video of the show circulating. The package is black and white and unimpressive. A nice addition to any collection.

An early warm-up show for the 'Hit 'n' run'/'Parade' shows later in the year. There's plenty of rough edges here, which suggests the band hadn't been rehearsing the material all that long before the show was played, and Prince apologises to the audience at one point where a song doesn't go quite as planned. Irritating to him, perhaps, but very interesting for the fan who likes to go beyond the polish. A couple of rarities here too - 'Paisley Park', which was dropped after this show, and 'Alexa de Paris', which was only played on a couple of other occasions.
