Optimum has once again has release a set in a double cardboard
single type sleeve (like they did with Salt Lake City 2CD). I hate that. The
package is nice to look at, what there is of it, and the picture discs are nice
as well... but that is about all this release has going for it. It has perhaps
the worst sound quality of any recent release. And lame, crappy cardboard
packaging. Disc one is a collection of studio outakes played at an afterparty
and recorded on what sounds like a boombox. It is all mid and has plenty of
crowd noise. Only a few tracks are rarities, but you can barely hear them so it
isn't worth the time. The second disc is even worse. The crowd noise makes it
impossile to enjoy. People are talking, glasses are hitting and again the
recording is missing alot.

A perfect example of the "Completist's Only"
tag. Maybe we should make a small banner for that as well?

Having an audio copy of the Crystal
ball release party is rather pointless now that Crystal ball
has been released. A couple of the tracks are of some interest though,
including 'Jam of the year' [remix], which of course became 'Push it up' after
a few more changes, and slightly different versions of 'Sadomasochistic
groove' and 'Funky music'. The Memphis aftershow is a lacklustre affair, not
helped at all by sound quality which is a bit on the muddy side. This is
definitely not a bootleg I could recommend and still keep a clear conscience.
