Previously available on the fan release
DVDR Wildenrath , this is the same footage and video recording as before. I really want to enjoy this as the show itself is a great example of an Act II show, however the plain fact is the quality of the video recording here simply isn t as good as the previous fan release which makes the majority of this particular release disappointing. Filmed from slightly left of centre to the stage, the person recording has an excellent vantage point from which to film the show. The opening few minutes are obstructed by other audience members, and they reappear on occasion during the show, but they aren t the main problem here. The problem doesn t lie with the person recording as the source recording remains the same as before this simply isn t a great copy of the video recording. The picture quality is really rather unimpressive with excessive colour contrast which makes the picture blindingly bright at times and you lose any kind of definition. Blindingly bright colour contrast issues aside, it does have it s moments, but they are few and far between and the problems far outweigh any positives this may have. The bonus footage is far more attractive and pretty much single-handedly saves this release. It contains two version of the Act II Munich aftershow from the previous night/early morning and you can choose to watch the 2:40 MTV broadcast or the lengthier collection of clips lasting 7:50 which have been edited together to represent a more complete show in the running order they were performed. The latter is an unusual, highly effective idea which works surprisingly well, and is a great bonus to an otherwise distinctly average release. Had the Act II show been dropped, and this was an 11 minute EP containing only the Terminal 2 footage, I d be praising it, however as the majority of the release is the Act II show and the Terminal 2 footage is bonus material, I can t be too positive overall. It s by no means a terrible release, but it could have been so much better with a superior source video recording of the Wegberg show..
